Will my videos added to my portfolio get compressed?

There are some compression rules that are applied to ensure that the videos uploaded by users are best seen on the platform. To ensure the least amount of quality loss we apply compression and optimisation (C/O) rules based on the Size to Duration (S/D) ratio of the video you upload.

The maximum permissible duration and size for video uploads to your profile on buttonshift.com are 900 Seconds (15 Minutes) and 500 MB respectively. Such a file would have an S/D ratio of 0.56 . Further, the SD ratio can vary depending on the resolution you upload i.e., 4k, 2k or Full HD. To ensure the best quality of optimization is applied to your uploads, you must ensure that the S/D ratio of your video is low.

In short, a 1 Minute video of 500 MB will most likely face more compression and optimisation versus a 15 minute video of the same size. Additionally, we discourage videos of Standard Resolution (720P) from being uploaded as they will undergo the most significant amount of compression, resulting in visible quality loss. Videos below Standard Definition cannot be uploaded on buttonshift.com.
