What are the different roles in ButtonShift?

Modified on Mon, 12 Aug, 2024 at 10:25 AM

There are five types of roles one can have in ButtonShift Workspace - Creator, Collaborator, Approver, Reviewer and Viewer. Actions that can be performed by users depends on the role they are assigned. A board has two broad ends - One who creates content, the other who accepts (approves) it. Roles are tied typically to one or the other, except for Viewer.

  • Creators can add content, work on feedback and add versions. Can take workflow actions like requesting shortlists, sending files and boards for review.

  • Collaborators can perform all activities like a Creator but cannot take workflow-related actions - like requesting shortlists or sending for review.

  • Approvers can shortlist, review and provide feedback on files. Can take workflow actions like approving, completing shortlists and requesting revisions.

  • Reviewers can perform all activities like Shortlisting files, review and feedback on files, but cannot take workflow-related actions - like Shortlist Completion, requesting revision or approving.

  • Viewers, as the name suggests can only view the board, its content and comment on them.

Additionally, in a Team Plan, the owner of the Workspace can create Admins and Managers to manage their workspace and it's contents.
